Digicall Assist Taking Real Climate Action with Greenfleet
Digicall Assist recently celebrated their successful partnership with Carbon Offset provider, Greenfleet, attending and participating in a tree planting expedition.
Greenfleet is Australia’s most respected source of biodiverse carbon offsets. As a non-profit organisation, Greenfleet connects people with real climate action. Since 1997, Greenfleet has planted more than 8.7 million native trees across 425 biodiverse forests in Australia and New Zealand to offset carbon emissions.
Since partnering with Greenfleet in November 2017, Digicall Assist’s contributions are helping to plant over 1,765 native trees* which will offset 472 tonnes of CO2-3 over their lifetime. This is the equivalent of revegetating an area that would fill the MCG grounds by 80% (i.e., 16,000 sqm), or the equivalent to removing 110 average medium cars from the road for one year.
“It’s fantastic to see the result of our partnership and to be involved with the tangible outcome of our relationship. Seeing and participating in the actual process of planting trees brings it all to life and makes us feel great about the impact we are having”, Digicall Assist, CEO Michael Curtin said.
As the relationship continues, Digicall Assist’s contributions will be used to implement a variety of projects that have other environmental benefits beyond carbon offsetting. Some of Greenfleet’s recent projects have had the added benefit of:
· Improving water quality water quality in the catchment area of South Gippsland Victoria
· Helped with the protection of endangered turtles in North Queensland
· Re-created a habitat for the koala population in South East Queensland
Digicall Assist were the first, and remain the only, national roadside assistance provider to engage in a formal partnership to reduce their carbon footprint through actively off-setting the carbon emissions produced when delivering roadside assistance.
